This one-hour television special, produced for LivePlanet and aired on National Geographic Channel, chronicles a thirty-person expedition and three ultra-marathoners as they ran across the Africa continent, which was part of the feature documentary, “Running the Sahara.“ The elite athletes are Charlie Engle from the United States, and Kevin Lin from Taiwan and Ray Zahab from Canada. Their goal: run through the countries of Senegal, Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Libya, and finish at the Red Sea in Egypt -- approximately two marathons per day, for eighty days, without a day off. A production of LivePlanet and Allentown Productions
